Valentines Fun!

So Marc and I are not ones to celebrate Valentines very much, but we sure had BIG one this year! We started out by celebrating Thursday, 12th! On that night we watched our wedding video, in which we had not seen since our wedding! It was so fun to remember all the fun people and memories. I had so much fun at our wedding and rehearsal dinner. The next night we went to see Slumdog millionaire! Great movie, you should definitely see it. Marc really enjoyed since he has actually been to India a couple of times and has such a heart for those people.
On Saturday morning, we (as in Marc) made a yummy breakfast for my parents. They were staying with us because they had a wedding to go to Saturday afternoon! It was fun and they brought us some little treats!

Cute Parents!

Then Saturday afternoon we headed to Big Cedar with our friends, The Hartnesses and The Cashions. We all won a 2 night cabin stay to Big Cedar from a fundraiser thing we went to a couple of months ago! It was such a blast! As you will see in the pictures below! The guys cooked us an amazing meal with yummy steaks on Saturday night. Then Sunday morning we woke up to a light dusting of snow that was absolutely gorgeous! It was magical, especially being at Big Cedar! We then headed to our brunch reservations at the Worman House. (If you ever stay at Big Cedar, this is A MUST DO!) This brunch was unbelievable! It had 4 tables with lots of yummy food, and ICE sculptures! We were there almost 2 hours pacing ourselves so we could try all the yumminess. We were so incredibly full after all of that food, we had to go back to the cabin and nap for a couple of hours!
Then it was time for a little shopping so we could work off some of that food we had gorged ourselves with! We headed to the Tanger outlet malls and found some incredible deals! Marc got a new wardrobe- but he only goes shopping once, maybe twice a year! It was soo fun finding incredible deals! I didn't buy a shirt over $12! Most of them were $3-$6. I really think I would make a great personal shopper!
After shopping, believe it or Not we headed to Lamberts. If any of you do not know what that is, well you are missing out! We again went and gorged our faces with food, so much that one of us got REALLY sick!! (I won't say any names though!) If you have never had the Lamberts experience, you should go out of your way to eat at one, they are way worth it!
The next day, Monday, All of our Friends headed back to Fayetteville, but Marc and I decided to stay and have the day together in Branson. So we went to the Branson Landing and shopped a little more and had a wonderful lunch!
Last weekend was such a blast. I'm so thankful that we were able to get away for a little R&R and to have fun with friends! (Even though we ATE way too much!)

This would be Matt and Kara's sweetheart steak! Don't forget- They are Newlyweds!

This sign said- "Horses Can Bite, Please Do not reach into Corral"!
Louise had no idea!

Please Pray

I just wanted to ask if y'all would join Marc and I in prayer for this sweet family. This family goes to our church and Brandon is Marc's office mate. They have worked together for several years now.
Please click here for their story.
Thank you so much! They really need prayer warriors right now!

Oh so Thankful

This would be my husband up in a tree with a chainsaw.

And Again!

A group of men from church decided to help do some cleanup work around Fayetteville from the ice storm. So a couple of weekends ago Marc got up early Saturday morning, put his work clothes on and then off to cutting trees he went. I thought what a great, servant husband I have. (while I lay in bed!) I did not try to think about it to much about the fact that chainsaws would be involved.
As soon as Marc got home, he said- "Honey you would have not been very proud of me." I thought to myself, well that's odd, I really was proud of him for going and helping people. He said, "I was really high up in some trees with dangerous chainsaws!" Great, that's what every wife wants to hear, right? I thought thank you Lord for keeping him safe. I told him to next time maybe think about the fact that I needed him more than those dern limbs be chopped down!

The next day we were sitting in church next to one of the guys that was there helping with cleanup. He had a journal with him that he was taking notes in. As I glanced over, me eye caught something (I promise I wasn't trying to read personal stuff!) It was a simple prayer asking for safety for that particular morning they were doing the cleanup. I thought, wow Thank you Lord for your protection when we don't even realize it. I felt so overwhelmed at that moment knowing and realizing God seriously protected Marc while he was up in that tree! I am oh so thankful for that!

Prayer is powerful!

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:6-7).

Please continue praying for the Hall family. Brandon was diagnosed with stage 4 Lymphoma.

My 1st Baby shower...

Ha! Ok not really "my" baby shower, but my first one to attend and to throw happened this weekend! I was able to help throw a baby shower for my really good friend and old neighbor Katie Henry. Unfortunately she doesn't have a blog at this time, but she will when the baby comes! I will make her and help her! Anyways, it was such a blast and so much fun. All of my community group girls were the hostesses and we had a great time getting ready for it! The theme was "nesting." Katie is having a boy named, Sawyer and we can't wait to meet him. He is going to have some amazing parents. I can't wait to learn how to be a good parent by watching them.
Here are some pictures from the shower. These won't be quite as good as the professional photographer that was there, but you can gather the idea!

Wooden letters w/ scrapbook paper modge podged to them!

Food table: pinwheels, birdsnest cupcakes, speckled jelly beans, and nuts!

Katies "hostess" gift tree!

Present table! Decorated with white hydrangeas and birdhouses

Katie opening fun presents!

Wondering what all this stuff is!

What a great bestie! I love her lots and she will be a great mommy!

25 things

I know, I know another blog game, but I think they are super fun and informative! This one originated on facebook, but I rather do it on the blog like Mare and Rachel! Here are the Rules: Once you've been tagged, you are supposed to write a note with 25 random things, facts, habits, or goals about you.

1. I have 4 metal rods in my back and 2 large screws. (I had 2 major back surgeries, 1- resulted from life-threatening scoliosis and 2- resulted from a stress fracture on my L-5)

2. I have a Yorkie named Louie- who has ultimately prepared me for motherhood. He is the most high maintenance dog. I get up with him 1-2 times a night, usually around 4am. I love him a lot regardless. He is a great snuggler and sleeps with Marc and I every night!

3. I would be a lot skinnier if I wasn't married.

4. I have probably gained 20 pounds since I got married. Yikes! I always say marriage is not good for the figure! Although I AM working on it!

5. I LOVE breakfast food! Could eat it for dinner every night. I mean the good stuff- pancakes, eggs, biscuits, Cinnamon rolls, donuts. Ha, no wonder the 20 pounds is what you are thinking! I really only eat a bad breakfast maybe once on the weekends!

6. I am scared to death of being pregnant.

7. I have never taken a pregnancy test!

8. I had hopes and dreams of being a counselor someday, probably won't happen because I hate school sooo much.

9. I LOVE, LOVE sports. I love to water ski, snow ski, play flag football, volleyball, etc!

10. I secretly want to start taking skiing lessons again and start back competing. Just won't work with my schedule. too bad so sad.

11. I have never had a wreck

12. I like strawberry flavored things, but not actual strawberries

13. I really don't like fruit! side note- I do eat apples (if peeled) and bananas only on rare occasions. I have maybe bought fruit at the store 5 times in my whole life.

14. I do not eat seafood. yuk.

15. I hate cleaning, especially sweeping and mopping.

16. I love entertaining and having people over at our house!

17. My favorite color is orange and has been since 7th grade. My first orange thing was an orange anorak from gap! I had an orange prom dress. I have an orange couch and ipod, i really do love that color! I want people to wear orange to my funeral

18. I really want to find a passion, whether it is creating something, selling something, etc. I would love to be able to work out of my own home someday!

19. I'm obsessed with Tivo- Just got one for Christmas and love it! I know, I'm late arriving.

20. I have absolutely amazing friends! I love ALL of them so much and feel incredibly blessed.

21. I'm very thankful for electricity. I had no idea how spoiled we really are!

22. I just watched the Superbowl and feel sad for the Cardinals.

23. I married a man from Piggott, AR. Who would of thought? My mom thought his last name was Piggott, because none of us had ever heard of that town. (funny enough, it does not show up on spell check!)

24. I lived in Thailand for 2 months. It was an amazing experience and I want to go back.

25. My favorite TV show is the office and I'm watching it right now!
