Good News!

So Marc went to the Doctor today and found out that he did NOT break his ankle or tear any ligaments! Yay! Praise God! The doctor said it is an extremely bad sprain and that he stretched some of his ligaments.
This is a huge answer to prayer because I'm not sure we could have afforded more medical bills. I am also very thankful for this considering we are moving in 2 weeks. It should get better if he stays off of it and keeps taking anti-inflammatory meds within the next few weeks! Just thought I would keep you posted! -Michelle

The Injury

Well a couple days ago, Marc was playing basketball at the Fayetteville Boys and Girls club with a group of guys. They usually play every Thursday morning before work. So just like any other Thursday morning, Marc got up and went. The only difference was that when he got home, he was "hobbling" instead of just walking. Apparently someone decided to dare Marc to jump up and grab the rim on a 10ft goal. So of course he would take on that dare, little did he know that might have not been the best decision. After touching the rim, he lost his grip and fell awkwardly on to his ankle. The result:

We think it is just a bad sprain at this point, but by the looks of it, I think it might be something a little more. We are praying against that. I kindly reminded Marc that we both just had birthdays and maybe we are getting too old for "dare's." I'm not sure we can afford them either! And no he has not gone to the doctor, he is a man.

Birthdays aren't what they used to be....

Well yesterday was my birthday! It was wonderful! Not stemming from this recent birthday, I have started to realize something over the past few years. As I get older, birthdays are not near as fun, I feel less special, people forget to call, you have to work and they just aren't quite as exciting. But I think that is just how it is when you get older. My mom always made a HUGE deal about birthdays, so now that I am older I expect a lot, which is not really a good thing. But oh well! That is just life, right? I am learning to be a more simple person!

Well for my 24th birthday my sweet friend Katie got a group of girls together the night before my birthday and we went to eat at Noodles (a really great Italian place). It was so much fun. It was alot of my favorite people all in one place. They all did a great job of making me feel special! I also had a super cute cake from Ricks bakery (one of my fayetteville favs!). Then when I got home, I walked in the house to beautiful flowers that Marc got me! Then the morning of, Marc made me some yummy french toast and an omelet for breakfast! Which is huge, considering we NEVER eat breakfast together before we gp to work. Then after work and Bible study we went and got ice cream at Maggie Moos (another fayetteville fav) with the Cashions and Hartness! So all in all, it was a pretty good birthday for a girl getting older (as someone kindly reminded me yesterday.)

So Thank you to all that made me feel special on my birthday! I really, really appreciate it! I still love me some birthday fun!

Happy 4th of July!

Happy B-day America!

Well I hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July. I know we did! We celebrated on Greers Ferry Lake at my parents lake house. It was such a wonderful and relaxing time. Every summer I look forward to 4th of July on the lake. This year was especially great because some of our good friends got to come with us! Our dear friends Matt Hartness and Jennie & Justin Jaksha.
We got to see some awesome fireworks on the lake! This picture is one of my favorite fireworks! Marc and I like to call the "umbrella" or "twizzler" Jennie would call it a "crinkley." We had a blast naming the fireworks! Obviously we are easily entertained.
