Great outdoors

Great outdoors was a function we had in college. It was always Halloween weekend. 7 years ago this weekend was the first function I ever asked marc too. I was terrified to ask him because it just felt weird being the one asking. Anyways, I had the best time ever. We went to a cabin with several of our good friends and watched all the old Halloween movies.
I was immediately obsessed with Marc after this function. And all the rest is history! Ha!

Gotta love the old function t-shirts and memories!

Happy Halloween!

Pumpkin Craft night

A few nights ago I had some girls over for a fun night of painting pumpkins. We all got a couple pumpkins a piece and then I pulled out the trusty ole chalkboard paint. I had a few skeptics about this project once we began painting, but in the end it turned out good and they were happy with the end result!

Rachael is a little unsure about the black pumpkins

monogrammed with chalk for Marc and Michelle..awww

this one Louise did with paint pens for her and Ben

my finished products!

We also made yummy caramel apples! This was a caramel apple kit. It came with the caramel, parchment paper, and sticks. The caramel was so yummy and draped perfectly over the apple.

unfortunaltely we cut them before I snapped a pic
they were still yummy though!

This was such a fun and easy fall craft. It would be fun for kids too, especially since chalk is easy to erase. It is pretty cheap as well. I bought my chalkbaord paint at Lowes a few months ago to make my framed chalkboard if you remember. It cost about $12 and then throw in a couple of $2-3 pumpkins makes for a fun, cheap craft! I still have a ton of paint left over, so it goes a long way.

Gift Ideas

Not sure if you like to do some early Christmas shopping, but if you do I have the perfect thing for you!  Amy Hannon over at Sincerely Your Paper is having a swoon-a-palooza of fun gifts that she is selling.
The swanky sooie gifts are definitely my fave since I heart the razorbacks, but she has other things that are great and not Razorback.

Such as Rubber stamps, invitations, note cards etc.
Anyways, go check it all out on her blog, http://sincerelyyoursonline.blogspot.com/. Amy is super talented and has been in several magazines. You have to order by November 1st though! So go now to see all the goodies.

Music Monday!

So I plan on doing these maybe like once a month because I keep forgetting, but seriously I have a new favorite band at the moment! They are:  Mumford and Sons. I found them a few months ago and can't quit listening to their album.
Folksy, Irishy, bluegrassy. I just can't get enough of them. I really think I should have been Irish because I'm obessed with irish bands. {i know, weird}

You can listen to a song here: Its called The Cave.
http://listen.grooveshark.com/#/s/The+Cave/2BEVFm
If you like it, you can listen to all their songs on grooveshark and the pandora station is quite nice too!

The album is called Sigh No More. Another one of their more popular songs is Called, "Little Lion Man." It is great, but I highly suggest listening to the edited, radio version!

Anyways, hope you enjoy!Happy Monday.

Girls Weekend!

I had a wonderful past weekend with some of my very best friends! My friend Liz came into town from OKC, my mom was here and my 2 other friends, Louise and Rachael all stayed with me this weekend!
It was truly a blast and just what I needed. We ate lots of yummy food and just had fun catching up.

My sis also got initiated this weekend. This was very special because I was able to pin her during the ceremony. Liz and Rachael also were there to support her (such great alums.) We were so proud, and of course re-living our glory days! Ha.
Here are some fun pics from our fun weekend!

Yummy fall dip

Who doesn't love a yummy fall dip recipe? I had this yumminess at a work lunch and it was so good.

Pumpkin Dip:

2 cups powdered sugar
2 8-ounce packages cream cheese
1 can pumpkin puree
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
2 cups Cool Whip

Beat softened cream cheese until light and fluffy. Stir in powdered sugar and blend well. Add pumpkin, cinnamon, and pumpkin pie spice and blend well.  Fold in Cool Whip.  Chill and serve. You can serve it in a cue bowl along with vanilla wafers, ginger snap cookies, graham crackers or whatever sounds yummy to you!

Enjoy!

Dallas

We had a wonderful weekend in Dallas this past weekend with some of our friends. We shopped, ate a lot, watched the hogs play in jerrys world (which is amazing) and we went to six flags. If you know me, you know I absolutely love rides.
It was a great time. We woke up Sunday morning and randomly decided to go. I'm glad we did because I know we won't be able to do that forever.
Here are a few pics. I will post more later!

New hog shirts! Check.

We had the privilege of setting in a suite, which made the cowboy stadium even better!

love this guy! Such a trooper after 1 too many times on the titan!

And we got sprinkles to go! Yum.

The perfect ending to a perfect weekend.

Pumpkin spice and Everything nice

Thats right, if you haven't ever had a pumpkin spice latte, then you are missing out. Nothing screams fall quite like this drink. It's amazing. It just has a small, little touch of pumpkin flavor. I had my first one this morning and now with the weather much, much cooler I officially can say it is Fall!!!

You should definitely at least try one this fall season!
