Bathtub Crayons?

So I bet you are thinking that is a weird title, and Michelle- Seriously, you don't have kids yet. Yes, yes I know! I wanted to share this fabulous, creative little tool with all you wives out there. Sorry to discriminate against the singles, but maybe someday this will be helpful to you as well!

I'm not the most creative person out there, nor do I try to be because lets just face it, I'm really not that talented. No worries, I'm ok with accepting this fact!

So a couple of months ago I had been thinking about how I wanted to surprise Marc by doing something nice for him. I'm a big fan of surprises, but not so much good at pulling them off. I thought about randomly leaving a card for him around the house or dropping one by his truck while he was at work. I just thought those are over-used, I really want something original and unusual.

Well I have no idea how in the world I came up with this idea, but I did and I LOVe it now! I remembered a while back when I babysat some kids one summer that they had these bathtub crayons. I thought to myself, well what if I left Marc a sweet note or prayer in the shower. See I take showers at night and he takes them in the A.M. (sorry if that's tmi). So after my long search for these little treasures, I finally found them one random night while I was at Target with Marc. They are in the BABY section of all places at target. What the heck, babies can't draw yet. Therefore I could not get them that night and had to go back a different time to purchase them! I was determined that I would follow through with this surprise! I prevailed and went the next week. So that very night, I took a shower and grafittied my whole entire shower. I was able to write words of encouragement, write a prayer over him, and to simply just tell him how much I loved him and how thankful I was for him! That next morning he was so SURPRISED! He could not believe that I came up with that idea.

Now we write sweet little notes back and forth, keep verses and prayer requests up! I have learned that shower time is a great prayer time! Its also a great way to learn verses, because they are right there in your face! Its also a great way to communicate love to your spouse.

Anyways, I highly suggest bathtub crayons or bathtub markers or they have finger paint too!

Seriously, surprise your hubbie or your children one of these days! They will love it!

I miss you Maui...

One year ago today we were loving life while basking in the glorious sun in Hawaii. Just thought I would reminisce a little bit.
This was by far the most beautiful, amazing place my eyes have ever seen. God was seriously showin off some skills by creating that place. I would love to go back someday, maybe for my 10 year anniversary! better start saving now...

Vegas Baby!

Ok well not really for me, but Marc is there on "work" right now and I'm not. I'm just a tad jealous since I have never been there before. I have just always wanted to see it. You know, the bright lights and the famous "strip" I mean you see it in the news, in movies, etc! I just think it would be fun. And I hear there is some fabulous shopping! He sent me some pics from his room, then I got really jealous. As you can see, he is not roughing it too badly.
We talked about me going, but it did not seem to make a whole lot of since. He will have to work all day at a hardware trade show. So that didn't sound too fun to be there all day walking around Vegas by myself. Maybe some other day we will go just for fun!
Have any of you ever been? If so, what did you think? Was it as trashy as people say it is? I'm just curious! leave a comment and let me know!

Happy Cinco de Mayo!

Race for the Cure

Last weekend I was able to participate in Race for the Cure in NWA! There was an amazing turn out of 18,000 people. Well thats how many signed up, not so sure they were ALL there, but still pretty amazing in this economy! Anyways, this was actually my first time to actually get up and go to it. I have been to a couple of them in Little Rock, and signed up a couple times while in college, but never actually made it race day. Sleep always seemed more important to me at the time! Now that I am more "grown up" I decided it was time to do it, plus its for a really great cause.
I signed up on my friend, Jenessa's team, "Brides for the Cure" I know I am no longer a bride anymore but I wanted to show her my support as well! Jenessa has her own event planning business called, J Bailey Occasions. She had huge set-up on race day with a big white tent, yummy Ricks for breakfast and fun swag bags and prizes that she gave away! The set-up was really neat. She did such a great job. There were several from our community group that came out. Even Stuart who wore a wedding dress the whole time while running the 5k! I stole this pic from Chelsea who I haven't seen in forever. She was in our community group the year before, but then moved to Little Rock while her husband is in med school. It was so great to reunite with her. Thankfully, she had someone snap this pic for us! I'm so glad because I did not have my camera.
It was a fun time! Next year I highly recommending signing up on the Brides for the Cure team! Its definitely the team to be on! (even if you are not a bride!)

Have a Fantastic weekend!
