Lake time!

ANNND its been a month since I last posted. Ughh, I'm so mad at myself for not making the time to keep this up. Although, this past month has been on-the-go and a little cray cray. But I really want to start back up so Maren can know what all she got to do in her 1st year of life.
First of all, she will be 8 months in 4 days.. so I will do her 7th and 8th month post soon.

Secondly, We got to take her to the lake on memorial weekend. I was super nervous that she may not do well out on the boat.. which would be tragic for the whole family. But no need to worry, she LOVED it, I mean she did amazing. We were out there for 3 days straight and she got in the water, handled her bulky life jacket well, and even fell asleep sitting straight up and lying down. If you know my family, you know that my parents are there every weekend. Those were my summers and I loved every minute of it. I'm hoping Maren will get to do the same.
She is definitely a water baby! She is so much fun right now, and probably one of the happiest, laid back babies I've ever known. I'm swear I'm not trying to brag... but we are so thankful and can't get enough of her.

She just out of the blue started doing this crinkle nose, open mouthed smile and it cracked me up! She hasn't done it much in the past few days, but it was cute while it lasted.

and again :)

My favorite people at my favorite location!

Water baby! and it was freezing~

and again...

Must have a hair bow with the life jacket. 2 great accessories.

Hope you all had a great Memorial weekend as well!

Weekend celebrations

Each year we head to the lake to celebrate the trio of birthdays. Mine is July 23rd, Marc's is the 27th, and Matt's is the 29th. So we always have a joint b-day party! My mom likes to go all out and make it special for each one of us, which we all appreciate! Friday night we got there in time for dinner and went by boat to a nice restaurant, then the boys got to go on a nice ski run with a new ski my dad just bought.

When we got back, we had cakes waiting on us. This cake is hilarious. When we were there on the 4th, Marc and Matt skied together so we thought this cake was perfect. Plus they both love strawberry cake which makes it look even more interesting...

Then mom got me my own, which was super cute and my fave with cream cheese icing and white cake.

All the presents, complete with a banner.

This defines their friendship of 10 years. Clearly.

I turned 28, Marc turned 29, and Matt turned the big 3-0! Glad i'm the youngest of the group!

Hottest day ever, but still very fun.

Met up w/ some fun friends and took a nice, long swim break.

We had a great week and weekend of celebrating our birthdays! Thanks Mom and dad for making it wonderful once again and hosting all of us!

4th of July fun!

Every year we head to the lake for the 4th! Its always a blast. I can't remember the last time I wasn't at the lake for the 4th. Our friends the Hartnesses came and my good friend Jennie J came as well! It was our cruise reunion. Unfortuantely Justin, Jennie's husband coudn't get off work, but it was still a blast seeing her considering she drove 11 hrs from Austin, Tx. She is so fun and always entertaining! I miss her so much and we wished they lived in NWA!

Jennie rockin it on the boat!

The house was full of friends, family and neighbors. We had a great time and had lots of yummy food. We also went to watch a couple of firework shows on the lake which was also super fun.

Hope everyone else had a great 4th of July! Thanks to all those who serve our country and make daily sacrifices for us.

Memorial Weekend 2010

After Megs graduation we headed to my favorite place ever... THE LAKE!!! Ahh I can't get enough of that place. I have grown up there most summers of my life and just love it. I have the greatest family and friend memories from there and could not be more thankful. I can't remember the last time I wasn't at the lake for memorial weekend.
And this one was no different...
Marc and I attempting to surf together!

I. heart. skiing.

and love spraying other boats (i knew them by the way)

just a tad out of breath

me and my beautiful momma

We all had a blast minus a few pop up showers here and there. We ate some great food too. One thing we had was breakfast casserole. I love making this for a house full of people.
If you have company or a holiday this is a great recipe. Marc's step mom gave me this several years ago and it it definitely one of my faves!

Ingredients:
8 eggs
6 slices of bread (cubed & enough to fill the bottom of the pan)
1 1/2 cups of milk
1lb of mild sausage (i like jimmy dean maple flavor)
dash of salt and pepper
1 C shredded cheddar cheese

-Brown sausage.
-Spray pan w/ Pam
-Place cubed bread to cover the bottom of a 9x13 dish
-Mix eggs and milk together.
-Place browned sausage over bread. Pour egg/milk mixture over sausage. Cover top with cheese.
Cover and store in fridge overnight.
Bake at 350 for 30-40min or until eggs aren't runny.

Hope you like it! Once you make it the first time its easy breezy the second time.
Enjoy and let me know if you have any questions!

Keith and more

The Keith Urban concert ended up being a blast! I drove down Thursday afternoon with enough time to grab some dinner with my fam! Dad took us to bonefish and it was super yummy! Meg and I shared a phenomenal steak! I think its officially one of my most favorite places to eat.

I unfortunately only had my phone camera and not my real one so it would not focus in on his face. Oh well, it was still super fun!
Then on Friday I got to have lunch with some friends I haven't seen in awhile which was fun and I also had an opportunity to visit my grandmother and catch up with her.
Later that night I headed to Conway to see the wonderful French family. Afterwards, Liz and I went to the lake and had dinner with my dad! Aww such sweet dad... Too bad I didn't get a pic of us. I just got one me and Liz.
We played most of the day on the lake

Liz almost surfed! So close! She will for sure get it next time!

I headed home on Saturday and went with marc to the annual northstar picnic. (aka- Marc's company get together)
Sunday, we went to church and to eat at Fish City grill with Katie and Andrew. Since we were already at the promenade, we talked the boys into letting us go shop for a little while, so they went and played golf of course. It's becoming a routine Sunday afternoon thing for those two.

And look who got to come with us shopping!

He was so happy and good the whole time! he loved all of the different colors.
Ahh I just love this little guy so much!

Marc and I are going to keep Sawyer tonight! It should be interesting! Ha! I guess we will see if we can actually handle a baby!!!
